Finally graduated college
Today, I graduated college with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Business Administration. I am glad, through the good and bad times, that I'm out of college. Considering that I felt like quiting like 20+ times (although many probably didnt realize this fact about me), I feel that it was worth it in the end to stick with it. Despite the huge amounts of work and sacrifice, I'm done. Some may wonder why I'm graduating in December. With a great deal of hard work and taking extra classes here and there, I managed to graduate a semester early. Here's a picture of me and my parents:

I’m in the Reading Eagle!! (newspaper)
I was informed last night that I would be in the paper today. I was interviewed earlier this week by a reporter from the Reading Eagle for graduating early (in December). I only have a brief part, but still in the paper, nonetheless.
You can read the article online here.

An update on the life and times of gibby
Today was definitely rough waking up. I woke up no earlier than 12 noon since last Thursday, except for Black Friday, which will be a blog unto itself. Anyway, I get to Business class 5 minutes late only to discover that today was a day that I really could have skipped. We got out of class 20 minutes early so i got to enjoy a nice long lunch.
The next part of my day sucked. I had to use the toilet in some fierce way. Normally I’d hold it until I get home, but today was going to be a long day on campus. This is so funny that I just had to include it in the blog. I sit down for a nice relaxing relief from the day and to expunge my two days straight of having pizza for dinner into the very private handicap bathroom just outside of the cafeteria. When I’m all finished up, I try to dispense the toilet paper, and the stupid thing doesn’t work. I can see that there are two completely full rolls of paper ready to be dispensed… but the dispenser isn’t working. After a couple minutes of fiddling, i get mad. I stand up and just yank the fuck out of the dispenser until the damn thing explodes onto the floor and the rolls are fully exposed… At this time, I notice that I’m already 5 minutes late to my next class, so I settle back onto the toilet and finish the remainder of the time out of my hectic day! J I hope no one was too disgusted by this story… but once it was over, i found a great deal of hilarity in the situation.
After arriving at my next class about 10 minutes late, i discovered that I could have skipped this class too. I get to class and they are just going over the recent test that we had prior to break. Needless to say, I got a 95% on the test which is, I think, the highest grade this particular teacher gives out. I got a 100% on the multiple choice questions and I didn’t see any marks off on the essays but I didn’t challenge his omnipotence.
I get to my next class on time because it’s hard to be late when the previous class ends 20+ minutes before the next one starts. Anyway, all we did in my computer science class was install a fresh version of Solaris on the Sun computers as a hands-on exercise of being a Sun administrator.
After Computer Science class concluded, Cliff and I started working on our Business presentation and paper due Thursday. We spend about 1.5 hours working on this until we were typing incoherently and talking about the party that I experienced earlier in the previous weekend.
Basically, I could have totally skipped school today at made a couple hundred dollars instead.
Long day of schoolwork…
Today was one crazy day. I had an assignment for Economics due tomorrow as well as a bunch of UNIX homework for Computer Science. I started the Econ project last night and worked on it for between 2 and 3 hours. Today I woke up at 11am and started immediately working on my Econ project with hopes of getting it done early. I had a bowl of cereal to start off the day. I took another break at 130pm to make and eat lunch. I then noticed that it was 430pm and my Mom was getting home from work. I realized I had been working on the same thing now for 5.5 hours. I went to make a sandwich at 530pm and I finally finished the project at 630pm. I worked on the Econ project for a total of ~9 hours (2 yesterday and 7 today).
I then immediately started working on my UNIX homework that is due tomorrow. From 630pm to 9pm, I worked on the UNIX without breaking. One might wonder where I get the stamina and endurance to get all that work done. I figured that I’d try to get it all done as early as possible so I could relax and do something else later in the night. To me, getting all my work done at 9pm was early.
At 9pm, I began working on an eBay auction for my NES console because they were having a $.20 listing sale today. Here is the link. If anyone wants to bid, the reserve price is 35.00 and someone local won't have to pay shipping... At 930pm, I got a shower and then commenced playing the normal Halo 2 on Xbox. At 1am I finished and began this summary of today.
My point is that I worked on schoolwork since 11am very close to nonstop until 900pm. That is a great deal of work. That is also crazy to sit in front of the same damn computer screen in the same damn chair in the same damn room. I didn’t go outside once today. Many people think it’s great that I only have class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On the contrary, it is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I have to work Mondays and Fridays from 7am to 3pm. I have to go to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am to 430-5pm. It is not uncommon that I spend all day on Wednesday doing work for Thursday classes. It is also not uncommon that I spend a great deal of Friday and Sunday doing schoolwork. Again, it is one of the hardest things that I’ve ever had to do…
Well, I have effectively gone crazy and would like to get some rest.
