xbox addiction

As of late, I have been turning into quite the game nerd. Everyday (at least) I play Halo 2 for XBOX for numerous hours. It all started when my good friend from high school and I experimented with free online multiplayer matches. We are getting better after a couple of weeks. However, there is no comparison to the online players who play countless hours more than we do.

The beauty of online gaming is that the games are never the same. They rarely get boring and if they do, just drop out of it and join another. We got hooked on playing so much that my friend bought an XBOX of his own. I am glad that I’m getting so much use out of mine because until recently mine was only used for watching movies and toting around my media files/games and other files.

I also want to get a communicator and headset which will enable me to chat/trash talk with the users on the other end. Sometimes they just need to be put in their place. This summer is wasting away on video games/work/sleep. Oh well, its going to be fun while it lasts.

Shout out to my homie Kyle with his newly found passion for XBOX, Halo, and online gameplay. (that was slightly faggot-like, huh!? Eh, 3 people total read this anyway!)

internship stories continued…

After my forth week at Verizon, I am feeling much more confortable and relaxed. I know more about what I’m doing even though I don’t believe that it will help much in the real computer programming world. I am mainly doing PC support with software that is specific to Verizon. This job won’t help me much other than to provide more beef to my resume.

Since my last blog, I have been working out of the Exton and Reading office more than the North Wales office. This is great because NW is so much farther away then the two other offices. It would take about 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to NW and by the time I got home at night, I’d be too tired to do anything else…

Even with going to Exton and Reading, and getting home at about 4:00 or 5:00, I still find myself very tired, especially at the end of the week. I just don’t have as much energy or motivation as I used to have. I am finding that I feel worn out after work. I’d like to get into the gym at least to stay in the shape that I’m in, but I haven’t been able to. I play basketball about once or twice a week at the YMCA or out at the Spruce St. park.

Working sucks, and if I am feeling so tired now, as a 20 year old, how will I feel in 10 or 20 years. I wont feel like doing anything at all if this trend continues…

More updates on the Verizon internship are soon to come…

new verizon internship… hectic

Today was my first day at my internship with Verizon as a Site Administrator which is just a fancy title for a PC Support Technician. I am working with a man that controls network access and the reloading of software on older computers for redeployment to other employees in need of a computer throughout a district of approximately 5 or 6 sites. I had to wake up at 530 am to be ready for my Aunt, who works in the same building as I. I started at 730 am and got done at 400pm. I was overwhelmed with a lot of information for my first day but I’m glad that I am not yet responsible for it all. It is probably as challenging as college classes and homework have been. However, since this has only been my first day, I don’t quite have that accurate of an impression of the job.

Hopefully it gets easier to handle. The stress level is trough the roof and I took 1.25 doses of Nyquil (this is something that I never do) in hopes to get some sleep tonight. Last night I wasn’t able to sleep and got only about 5 hours total. In combination with the high stress and anxiety of starting a new job, not enough sleep and a pretty good hunger pain going, today was very overwhelming and hectic. Hopefully I can sleep long and well enough tonight to get up early enough tomorrow.

I am very exhausted and for this reason I am listening to something nice... hence: Phil Collins - Hits.

one hectic day

Today and yesterday were very hectic. I woke up at the normal 720am to attend my history class. This was the last day of classes for me and one step closer to getting done school for the summer!! After class and lunch I began packing my stuff into my car to lighten the load. I took a whole car load home. Then at 530pm my dad and I returned in his truck to get the remainder of the items from my room. This took about 1 hour more and everything was dumped into my computer room and the living room at my Dad’s house. Many of these articles would have to go to my Mom’s house and a lot would stay at my Dad’s. I began to unpack everything and I realized that I had about 3 of each everyday item. This made it very difficult to determine where everything needs to go. My room was a disaster area. I had to go through my clothes in my closet because a lot of them didn’t fit right anymore. So I had to get a bag together for Goodwill. Along with that, I needed to do about 3 loads of wash and sort everything going to my Mom’s from the stuff staying at my Dad’s. This was quite a headache!! I ended up going to sleep at 230am after staying up and working on laundry, unpacking and putting everything away as well as a full day at school (total: 19 hours).

Today I got up at 1030am and went to the dentist at 1130am. After that my mom called me to let me know that she was planning on getting a new dog. So I rushed to get all the Goodwill bags ready and to put the boxes going to my Mom’s house in the car. Ten minutes later I was ready to leave. I got at my Mom’s house and we took off for the puppy store. She ended up getting a new Silky Terrier which was IMO too similar to the dog she already has. Either way, it’s a nice looking dog. Since the dog is a baby it was tired when we got it home, so I took a 1 hour nap with it :) .

I then left to go back to my Dad’s house to fold wash the loads of wash that were hanging out on the back porch and in the yard. On my way back my Dad called on our brand new, amazing Verizon cell phones :) and told me to go to Giant to get some crab legs. I did this and it took about 30 mins. When I got back to my Dad’s house, I folded all of the wash on the back porch and put a lot of things (winter clothes, school work from last semester, and winter blankets) up into the attic. At that time it was time for dinner. We enjoyed the crab legs and now I’m typing this blog. After this, I plan on going to the YMCA to play some basketball!

I’m happy about today and yesterday because I was able to get a lot of things organized and out of the way. My room and the living room look much better and I feel like its closer to summer now!

Another positive aspect of today is that I was able to download many CD's (unreleased of course) and movies while doing other, more productive things! :) My Ipod increased its contents by a significant amount today!

new Verizon service and phones

After all the drama with Cingular, I am very happy to be a Verizon Wireless customer. We had a much better experience with Verizon than with Cingular. My Dad is an employee of Verizon, which might explain the better experience, and we were able to get a lot of perks: activation fees waived, double phone promo's (two different buy one get one deals at the same time), discount on accessories, and the ability to get a future 20iscount on the service of every bill!!! Not only did we get all this but since it was the week of my birthday, my dad also splurged and got me the phone I really wanted!! I also have the same phone number that Ive had for the past 4 years as well as unlimited text and picture messaging to all Verizon IN customers!!! I'm excited... check out the pictures of my new phone:

last night was my bday

My Dad, his girlfriend, and I were planning for a week to go out to dinner for my birthday. We planned on going to that Italian restaurant, Buca Di Beppo. For some reason (Dad's GF), we went to another restaurant, Zia Maria's... This place looked and felt promising. However, when I saw the menu, I didn't know what alot of the things were and it seemed like it was in a different language. I ordered Crab with tortellini. When I got the plate, it wasn’t what I had expected. I didn't really like it but ate about 9/10 of it because I was starving.

It takes us about 1 hour to get home from where we were. My stomach started hurting immediately after leaving the restaurant. We dropped my Dad's GF off at her car and headed home. Half way there I told him I desperately needed to stop. We stopped at Wal-Mart and I had the worst case of diarrhea - x3 (no lie). I drank Pepto Bismol and we continued to my Mom's house (where my car was). I was supposed to go back to my Dad's house this night but I fell asleep right when I laid down (11 pm). I didn't wake up until about 11am or 12pm today (the next morning)... THAT was my birthday dinner! :)
